Oscar Wilde (1854-1890) is one of the most important Irish poets and playwrights. He is the author of The Importance of Being Earnest (our green book in 3rd ESO) and The Canterville Ghost (the play we are going to see in Igualada) Learn a bit more about Oscar Wilde by watching this video. The Importance of Being Earnest was first p erformed on 14 February 1895 at the St James's Theatre in London.
